Prison Bus How to Revive: Hardcore Rules and the R$39 Revive Product

Last updated:

Prison Bus has no free revives in Hardcore mode, and the game sells a paid Revive developer product for R$39. What to know before your next run.

Quick answer

Prison Bus has two confirmed revive rules: Hardcore mode has no free revives, so the mode never gives you a free way back into the run, and the game sells a paid developer product named Revive for R$39.

  • Hardcore mode (added in Update 1): entry requires having won the game, enemies are harder, and there are no free revives.
  • Paid option: the game's Robux product list includes a Revive developer product priced at R$39.
  • The no-free-revives rule is attached to Hardcore only. The Update 1 notes say nothing about revives in Quick mode.

Revives are easy to overlook in Prison Bus until the moment you need one. The game puts you in the driver's seat of a prison bus: you fix up the bus, drive it out to pick up prisoners, survive the anomalies along the route, and have to get to the prison alive. That final condition is the whole game, and it is exactly why the revive rules are worth knowing before you start a run rather than after something on the road has already gone wrong.

Hardcore mode has no free revives

Hardcore is the one mode where Prison Bus is explicit about revives. Added in Update 1, it is available only to players who have won the game, it features harder enemies, and — the part that matters here — it has no free revives. A Hardcore run does not hand you a free second attempt, so treat every anomaly encounter and every stretch of dark road as a mistake you may not get to undo.

The reward is matched to the risk: winning Hardcore unlocks a free exclusive bus skin, the Armoured Bus skin for Hardcore winners. That skin is exclusive to Hardcore, which is precisely why the no-free-revives rule matters — the game's most visible trophy is earned in its least forgiving mode. If you are working toward that first win, the how to win guide and the Hardcore mode overview cover what the mode demands.

The paid Revive product at R$39

The game also sells a developer product named Revive, priced at R$39. Prison Bus offers a developer product named Revive priced at R$39 — the same price as the Medic Pack, and listed alongside the Health Pack (R$19) and the Bandage (R$9).

Worth knowing: those names and prices come from the game's product listing, and the listing does not say when the Revive product is offered during a run or exactly how it behaves there — that part you will see in the game itself. What the surrounding list does make clear is that lower-priced healing products sit alongside it — Bandage (R$9) and Health Pack (R$19) — with the Medic Pack at the same R$39 as Revive. — which the healing items page breaks down. Using those well is often the difference between needing a revive and not, and the how to heal guide covers staying alive in more depth.

Hardcore vs Quick mode on revives

Update 1 added two modes, and only one of them carries a revive restriction:

Read the Quick column carefully. The Update 1 notes attach the no-free-revives rule to Hardcore and say nothing about revives in Quick mode — but silence is not a promise. The notes simply do not describe Quick mode's revive behavior, so do not treat a Quick run as safe from death based on the notes alone. What they do confirm is Quick mode's selling point: the map is half as long and much quicker to finish, for a price in Robux or tokens. The game modes overview places both modes next to the standard experience.

Where revives fit in a run

Every Prison Bus run follows the same shape: fix up the bus, drive it to pick up prisoners, survive the anomalies, get to the prison alive. Revive rules sit at the end of that chain — they decide what happens when the alive part fails. With the confirmed picture this narrow, your practical priorities are straightforward:

  • Know which mode you are in. Only Hardcore carries the no-free-revives rule, and it also asks the most of you: harder enemies, plus a win already under your belt just to enter.
  • Lean on healing before revives. The Bandage (R$9), Health Pack (R$19) and Medic Pack (R$39) in the product list exist for the trouble along the route, and keeping yourself upright keeps the revive question from ever coming up.
  • Plan a Hardcore attempt around permanence. If the Armoured Bus skin is the goal, build the run as if nothing will bring you back for free — because in Hardcore, nothing will.
